This is the fourth in the “I AM – God” series by Phil (the last two were preached in the same sermon). How much have you thought about Jesus? Do you think about him often? Do you know what it means for Jesus to be your closest friend?
Firstly, I am sure that you understand that your absolute best friend will love you without reservations of what you have done, what you are doing, and what you will do. Do you realise that God loves you dearly, and he always has, and he always will, regardless of your past, present or future. But, if you do not know him and what he has done for you, and what he will do for you if you accept him into your life, then when it comes to the crunch he will not be there for you and will not accept you at the time of your greatest need, and your greatest need is at the time that you die. At that time you will be missing your best friend, Jesus, who really wants YOU to know him intimately now.
Our two critical needs, apart from the air we breathe in and out, is water and food. Jesus tells us in his word that he is the bread of life. Without this bread then life is not what it should be, not what he made it to be, and not the best that you could want it to be. Phil explains this clearly for us, and relates his own experience with God in his life. He asks, ‘will he see you in heaven with Jesus?’
Do you know Jesus personally? If this raises questions for you, then please talk with us, or with someone who does know Jesus personally. Your peaceful future (regardless of your circumstances) depends upon it.
