This is the first in the “I AM – God“ series. Jesus said that “I am the light of the world” (John 8:12 and 9:5). When he said this, as well as also making claims to be the ‘son of man’, the religious leaders of the day took these statements by Jesus as being a clear reference to him claiming to be God, or at least equal to God as his son. The Bible book of Ezekiel refers to the “son of man” 93 times (plus 82 times in the New Testament), so the religious leaders were right on track on who Jesus was saying that he was – they knew their Bible very well. So Jesus made it very clear just who he was when he walked on this earth.

Phil talks not just about this Bible passage of the healing by Jesus of the man who was born blind, but he helps us to realise just how amazing this Bible record is. Particularly when the healed man then worships Jesus the instant that he knows who Jesus is (John 9:35-38).
