Talking with people about God, particularly family and friends, can be received as offensive. Probably this is because God’s word is so challenging when it is taken into the heart. But because God’s word is true then it is also challenging, but well worth absorbing the positive life-changing challenge. If a fire is burning towards a neighbour’s property and threatening their house and their lives, wouldn’t you race over to them and warn them of the danger? Wouldn’t you do all you could to save those close to you? You would bash on their door to wake them up to the approaching danger. I am not suggesting that you go around Bible bashing, but building a caring relationship with those you know and meet, to gently declare to them the reality of the truth, needs to be close to our hearts. Pray to God for those opportunities and listen to what Adam says in this video to challenge us – to read the Bible for ourselves, seek friends to help us understand it, and to proclaim the truth to others, lovingly.
