This sermon:

Naaman, The Syrian General

Why is the story of Naaman, the Syrian General in the Bible? What has God to say to us through Naaman’s experience? Although there were many lepers in Israel at the time, only Naaman, a gentile Syrian foreigner was healed. Naaman would have been the enemy. However, Jeff explains that Jesus referred to this Old Testament story from 2 Kings to show the sovereignty of God in salvation, for “salvation is of the Lord” (Jonah 2:9). This story is worthy of our time to answer these questions because it tells us how God can bring, and is eager to bring, a sinner to Himself. Just as He can bring us out of the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of His Son (refer Colossians 1:13).
