On this Easter Sunday, and every Easter Sunday, we celebrate the physical bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ, and we Christians have been doing this for 2,000 years. Not only is this the most central and important event in the whole of Scripture, but it is the most pivotal event in all of history. Christianity is a faith founded on facts; it is grounded in history. The vast majority of scholars (Christian and non-Christian) come to accept the fundamental facts undergirding the resurrection of Jesus. In this video, Jeff explains why the Bible New Testament is authentic, historical, believable and verifiable. The Bible rings true.
Sometimes proofs or arguments for God’s existence and the resurrection of Jesus from the dead can distract us from God Himself. God can be personally known and experienced apart from evidence and arguments, apart from scholarship and academics. Until you experience God yourself, it can be hard to understand that you can know that God exists and that Jesus lives, by simply personally experiencing Him. For those who listen, God becomes a personal reality in their lives. “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” James 4:8. A Christians’ experiences need, of course, to be backed up by what God says in the Bible, because God never changes – his promises and character remain constant.
