What does Paul teach us in 1 Corinthians about speaking in tongues? What does his apostolic authority say about gifts given by God? How important is our belief? How should this relate this to our actions, our behaviour, our thinking? Christians are supposed to be marked out by kindness, patience and gentleness, however, we are human, so failures even in these areas of life do happen. Often, far too often. Whaterver gifts God has given us, they are to be used for the common good, not focused on personal gain or to bolster our pride. So all gifts are to be treated with equal value, just as all persons are to be treated equally, and encouraged to contribute to the common good. Our aim should be to contribute as best as we can.
