Have you ever been accused of being brainless, or having half a brain, well maybe accused of having 2/3 of a brain? Bible translators have struggled with this word “soul” and have translated this Greek word psyche (ψυχή) in different ways to fit the context – ψυχή = “soul,” but also “life,” “person,” and “self”.
Science has shown that there is something that drives us that is separate from the brain. Yes, the brain does control the body, and studies have identified what the brain does in our functioning as humans, but studies have now also shown that what the soul (or mind) does is totally separate from the brain, though the soul does use the brain’s abilities.
